Windows 10: fully functional WD External hard drive not recognized anywhere on windows 10

I have a WD 1TB external hard drive that I have been using for a while. It worked perfectly fine up until it suddenly started disconnecting from windows 10. I tried plugging it in different ports and the problem persists, then suddenly it pops up in my PC and works again. It happened a few times, but now it's not working again.

The drive is recognized by my macbook, I also tried it on another macbook and it works too. It doesn't work on the TOSHIBA windows 10 laptop, I tried on HP windows 10 too and it also doesn't doesn't work.

I tried everything I found online related to updating USB drives, I forgot exactly what they were but something about disabling the option of turning off the ports in low battery, etc.. it's not a usb port issue as I tried connecting other USBs and they work. I also tried safe mode and didn't find it either.

I can't find the drive in disk management either.

Also its not on Device manager.

I can't find it anywhere!

I've been trying to find a solution for two days and no luck, so any help is greatly appreciated!

EDIT: I used another cable, it worked for barely two seconds before it disappeared.

I'm currently running windows 10 and I have a WD MY BOOK 3T EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE. My laptop is a DELL LATITUDE E6530. When I plug in the hard drive, neither of the laptop or windows recognizes that its plugged in except for in device manager. and there's
no opening it. I used it before windows 10 but now it says I can't restore to Windows 7 because I didn't have restore set up. I'm not even sure that's the problem. All I know is that I've accessed it before without any problems but its been quite some time.
I'm needing suggestions or remote help to tell me what the problem is because I need it to open up space on the laptop

 

I've lost two WD external hard drives since connecting them to new Windows 10 computer

In the 3 days since I started using a new Dell XPS 8900 with Windows 10 Pro, the computer stopped recognizing two Western Digital external hard drives (one Mybook, on Mypassport) each containing large amounts of data. The hard drives are no longer recognized
by file manager or in Disc Manager. On my old Windows 7 computer (where they worked well until connected to the new Windows 10 device) one was recognized only in Device Manager, but are listed as having 0 bytes of data. (I stupidly destroyed and recycled
it, thinking it was common drive failure and time to get a new one). The other seems fully operational on the Windows 7 computer.

I understand this is a recurring problem with WD hard drives, and external drives in general for Windows 10. I'd appreciate any possible assistance.
