Windows 10: Game crash. Faulting module name: nvwgf2umx.dll

When trying to play Dark Souls 3, the game crashes after about 30 seconds in. The same happens with some other games as well. I have previously over a year ago played the game over 200 hours on the same machine without issues.


I have:

-Windows 10 Home

-GeForce GTX 1060 3GB

-IntelR CoreTM i5-7400 CPU @ 3.00GHz, 3001 Mhz, 4 Cores, 4 Logical Processors

-8 GB RAM

-two monitors 144hz and 60hz


I have tried:

-fresh Windows 10 install

-updating the latest Nvidia drivers

-older versions of drivers

-disabling all overlays Steam, GeForce Experience, Game bar

-disabling second monitor

Trying to determine cause of crashes, multiple devices occurring at 3 different times in the day (i.e. 8762 crashes on 2002 devices yesterday) . Affecting Windows 7 64bit and Windows 10 64 bit, Enterprise

Fault Module Name:_wcescommproxy.dll

My WMDC continually crashes after initial start up. The error report lists
Fault Module Name: wcescommproxy.dll as the problem. I have done multiple uninstalls and reinstalls. I can initially set up my phone and sync and then the next attempt restarts the crash process.

 

D3d11.dll crashes
