Windows 10: Games crashing windows 10 BEX, BEX64, APPCRASH problem event name

When I try to play any game on my Dell G3 3579 it will crash after a seemingly random period of time, usually within 10-20 minutes but sometimes up to 2 hours when it does crash it doesn't give any indication or prompt after, it will also much less frequently go to a blue screen. I've tried a lot of stuff to try and fix this including but not limited to running sfc /scannow, updating drivers, updating windows, uninstalling updates, disabling fastboot, checking hardware, even doing a clean install and nothing has helped. The only lead I have is from looking at the reliability monitor page and the games Problem event name is always either BEX, BEX64 or APPCRASH.

intermittent BEX64 explorer.exe crash

It's almost inevitably associated with a 3rd party program hooked into file explorer.
Consider anything that modifies file explorer in any way (e.g. adds buttons, quick access to favourites, changes appearance of the GUI...) and any context menu entry.

You can start by disabling all non-MS context entries, starting with Shellexview (free), and then seeing if the same occurs.

You may find further such entries using the more technical Autoruns (free from MS) where the listing is divided into clear sections to help you find those.

Do not disable MS entries- these programs help you to hide those.
