  1. Get Bitlocker password when not having access to verifying Microsoft account

    Dear community,

I am currently trapped in the cycle of “Automatic Repair, Your PC Did Not Start Correctly” cycle. This means that I cannot normally start windows but am always shown the blue screen with "Your PC Did Not Start Correctly" where restarting brings me back to this screen. Within the advanced options and e.g. selecting start-up repair, I am asked to enter the recovery key. Unfortunately, I did not note this somewhere. When trying to access the key online, I have the problem of needing to verify my Microsoft account with my phone number. Unfortunately, I recently changed my phone number, do not have access to the old one anymore and thus had to enter my new phone number. Thus, Microsoft tells me that I cannot access the site for the recovery key for 30 days. Is there any chance to be unlocked quicker, potentially with personal verification? For me it is no option to not use my computer for 30 days.

If support can help, can you please let me know who I can contact I am based in Germany.

Thanks for your help! I am really frustrated and hope to be able to use my computer soon again.

    :)

  3. Forgot Windows 10 password...

If it's a Microsoft account, you should be able to change the password via another computer at live.com and the password should also change to match on the computer (obviously make sure it has internet access first). The password is verified online during login.

Also, I would suggest you to switch current Microsoft User Account to Local Account and then create new user profile and then try signing into that account using your Microsoft account and check if
that helps. Please follow the steps given below.

    • Go to Your accounts.

    • Click “Disconnect” Windows 8.1 account settings
Note: This will launch a prompt, you will need to confirm your current Windows Live account password. Also note by switching to your local accounts,
you will NOT lose the settings or any files, the only advantage you will be missing out is the sync between other devices.

    • Confirm switch to local Windows 8.1 accounts

    • Now, create your local account password and hint.

    • Switch to local Windows 8.1 accounts, confirm password
Note: Windows will tell you in detail of what it means to switch to a local account. Read carefully if you have any concerns.

Switch to local accounts windows 8.1

That’s it, Windows will then log out the current account, and you will be able to log back in with the local accounts you have just created. All the cloud sync services will be disabled, if you changed your mind about going
back to have a local account, you can always reconnect this local accounts to a Windows Live accounts.

      Next.

    • Fill in the security information in order to recover your account in case of loss of password and click
      next.

    • Finally, click on Finish.

    • You will receive an email asking you to confirm the association of Windows 8 account. Make sure to complete the confirmation process.

    • You are now connected with your Microsoft account.
