I seen all the help posts on Microsoft, go here do this then that but they don't work. What I did was, the same file card.xls, on my computer and on flash drive, to transfer back and forth when I update on 1 to the other. I worked on the file on my computer, saved, all good. Forgetting where I left off I accidentally transfered the un updated file on the flash drive to my computer, therefore putting the old file on my computer losing all my updates. How can I restore my updated version on my comp to before I overwrote it from the USB drive?????? I looked at the "properties" under "previous version" nothing there. Can I find the file in the computer restore system file? Please say yes, it was a lot of work lost.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

Unlocked Realtek HD Audio Drivers Windows 7 & 8 (With Dolby Digital Live and DTS Interactive)

DTS supported natively by Windows 8/8.1 and it should work on windows 10 too just DDL require to unlock your driver .

    File Explorer not showing thumbnails

    Brink,

Many thanks for you reply. I have done all the steps you suggested, but no change,

When I open a folder containing photos, some open correctly but the vast majority open with thumbnails, but they very quickly get overwritten and you can not longer see the thumbnails.

    Are there any more suggestions?
