    Getting BSOD 139 on a new install of Windows


    My PC wasn't experiencing Bluescreens until I reset it and reinstalled Windows to attempt to improve my performance. Since then I've gotten several BSODs involving ntoskrnl.exeHere is a link to my most recent minidump.

    could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

    That could be it. Just a suggestion, never do any hardware driver updates via Windows update in the future, just download the critical updates and leave it at that. When thats done then install hardware drivers that you got from the manufacturer's site.

    multiple BSOD's without installing new drivers; windows update?

    i don't know where all these BSOD's are coming from.
    i haven't changed hardware & i haven't installed any software with drivers since these started.
    i checked the windows update list & didn't readily see an update suggesting new drivers were installed.
    i've tried to look into the situation myself using a program called 'whocrashed' but i didn't get far.
