Windows 10: Getting error code when trying to update to creators update NEED HELP!

Every time i try to upgrade through the assistant, i get the following error code: 0xc1900200. Does anyone know what this is and how to fix it? It's being installed on an HP Beats Specical Edition Laptop. Laptop more than meets the specs. Help!!

Hi,

I'm running window 10 Education version 10586.

I can't check Window Anniversary by Window Update.

So I have download that tool from http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=821403

After run tool, I get an error code 0xA0000400

Backup your data to a USB and remove and keep it safe.

The windows update should keep all your data but this is a precaution in case you get and update error.

Try downloading the windows 10 anniversary Education update 14393 ISO

Download Windows Disc Image (ISO File) Academic

Right-click the ISO and open with File explorer.

Double-click and run setup.exe from the new mounted drive.

 

On another thread the OP found that this error occurred on their PC because...

win 10 version 1607 to 1703 upgrade failure code 0xc1900200

 

So what should I do to resolve this? I really want the upgrade and tried it like 6 times failing each time. Is there a workaround or solution to this problem? Would reinstalling Windows 10 fix it or do I have to wait until its availible through windows update? Btw, if this thread is a duplicate of another mods you can delete it.

 

Wiping all partitions and doing a clean install should work, but you probably don't want to do that - you'll loose your files and installed apps.

If you can confirm from the install log files that this is your problem, you may be able to make the recovery partition larger with something like MiniTools Partition Wizard. The log files are probably in the hidden C:\$Windows.~BT folder.

We'd first need to see your partitions in Disk Management in order to see if it's feasible in your case.
