Windows 10: Getting error whilst trying to Map Network drive on Windows 11

I have recently purchased a Windows 11 laptop to replace an older Windows 10 laptop. I have a disk attached to the router in my house which I use to store a lot of information. This disk can be seen by all the devices I have i.e. the Windows 10 laptop, Android phones and Android tablets. When I try to Map Network Drive on the new Windows 11 laptop, I get the errors message "The mapped network drive could not be created because of the following error has occurred: An extended error has occurred".The network drive does not have a password and the address for all other devices that have worked

Windows 11 Probling with maping a network drive.

Certainly! Here are the steps to map a network drive using File Explorer in Windows 11:

1. Open File Explorer:
   
   • Press Windows key + E on your keyboard to open File Explorer.
     
2. Navigate to “This PC”:
   
   • Click on “This PC” in the left pane.
     
3. Access the “Map Network Drive” Option:
   
   • Click the “More options” (three dots) button in the command bar.
     
   • Select the “Map network drive” option.
     
4. Assign a Drive Letter:
   
   • Use the “Drive” dropdown menu to select the drive letter you want to assign.
     
   • In the “Folder” field, enter the network path to the shared folder. Alternatively, click the “Browse” button to select the folder you want to map as a network drive.
     
   • Click “Finish” to complete the assignment.
     
5. Enter Login Credentials:
   
   • When the mapped network drive opens, enter your login ID and password if prompted.
     

Following these steps will allow you to map a network drive using File Explorer in Windows 11. Remember to use the IP address instead of the computer name if you can’t connect to the shared folder. Additionally, if the resource-providing device uses a password-less Microsoft account, you’ll need to create a local account to establish the connection, as mapping won’t work otherwise.

Map Network Drive Windows 11

I need some help, I'm trying to resolve a Map Network Drive issue. Windows can't communicate with the device or resource (xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx). The computer or service you are trying to reach might are temporarily unavailable.

When I try to map a resource on my windows 11 laptop I'm getting ( Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) is not responding.

This issue just started in Dec of 2022. I have been able to map network drives up until Dec.

I would appreciate any help. Just to let you know I've already disabled McAfee antivirus, VPN, Windows VPN. Private networks >File and printer sharing is on, Network Discovery is on, Public networks> Network discovery is off, File and printer sharing is off. I've tried all the steps that I read on this site and nothing has worked. This is a new laptop with Windows 11 Pro Dell Inspiron 16 5620
