Windows 10: Getting Rid of Firewall Notifications

Control Panel > System and Security > Security and Maintenance > Turn off messages about firewall

 

I would rather be notified than not, if some how a bug or virus or Malware was trying to attack my computer

 

That's a pretty old thread. About 5 months old. Chances are the OP had the issue resolved by now.
And the method has been posted in post #2.

 

So now I understand how users like you and Mystere become pro users with thousands of post. You simply post meaningless responses that contributes absolutely nothing to the conversation and does nothing but put people down. I'm assuming to lift your own mental status?

Was it really necessary to belittle someone who was probably simply trying to be helpful? Well at least you have another post until your total, eh?

It helped me, because I didn't see the long winded explanation earlier in the post. This guys response succinctly describes exactly what I need to do and the formatting stood out as something I recognized. I give this guy props for summarizing a previously long winded solution.

 

Actually, a decent router has a firewall to stop "unsolicited" traffic. Other than sharing multiple devices on the same public IP, the router's firewall is the main reason to use the device (yes, there are other functions). Why introduce another level of firewall that "hogs the machine"? Of course, if you go clicking on things, not knowing what they are, you are asking for trouble whether you have a firewall, or not.

My laptop had the same problem, but apparently doing what Mystere said and then turning messages for network firewall back on solved the problem for some reason.
