Windows 10: getting stuck at "getting files ready for installation" on the hdd but not the ssd?

I have tried multiple times now to download windows 10 via usb stick to the ssd drive. I have done this with previous versions of windows with different usb`s and with the same ssd before with no issues. but this time it just stops at "getting files ready for installation".

Then i tried to install it on the hdd drive and it worked. Is it the ssd drive that is the issue here ? would i now be able to clone it over from the hdd to the ssd ?

Installer gets stuck on 75% "getting files ready"

I have recently upgraded from win 7 to 10 with a few hiccups but troubleshooted to solve it. Now I wanted a new clean install on a ssd but got a new problem. I made a bootable usb with the media tool, it booted but always get stuck at 75% for "getting files
ready for installation. I left it for at least two hours. It's not frozen just hanging there.

What at I have tried:

-unplugging everything, including old hdd mouse and keyboard during install

-redled new windows 10 via media tool on usb in case of corruption

I can't think of anything else and getting frustrated. A reformat shouldn't be this hard to do. Especially on a new drive.

Any ideas?
