Getting Windows Ready Don't Shut down your Computer

This message is useless, and a little late, because I get it after I have opted to Shut Down Windows. There is no indication that I can see that updates are ready to be applied. So after some time (5 mins) the computer shuts down, then on next startup same message appears before computer finished boot. What am I to look at before shutting down the computer ?

    :)

Stalled shutdowns: Getting windows ready don't turn off your computer annoying !

    Hi,

I'm always in a rush and don't have time to wait for my computer to reboot or shut down and I find it very annoying I am not given

an option when I select shut down I get a bluescreen with this message: 'Getting windows ready don't turn off your computer' and I have to sit and wait 5-10 minutes for Windows to install updates or I don't know what as no feedback is being provided. At
least the Macintosh OS doesn't behave this way and when I click shut down the machine shuts down!

Is there a way to shut down my computer on my terms?!!

    Annoyed!

    Thanks
