Windows 10: Gigabyte x58 Board + Samsung 850EVO SSD

Hello there
Well i still got my x58 pc and i will upgrade the coming summer.resently i bought a Samsung 850 EVO SSD3 6gb
My Board has 6x Sata 2 Intel Ports and 4 Marvel Sata3 Ports ( Bios all on AHCI-Bios Settings are correct)
The Question is:
Should i use the Intel Sata2 Ports or the Marvell Sata3 ?
I Did some Benchmarks seems Marvel is a bit faster .But still ..
What you guys recoment?

Cannot create a System Recovery Disc - get error code 0xC0AA0007

Under W10 (on a Gigabyte X58 and later on an ASUS Z170 MoBo) clean boot makes no difference. Also,
after installing Nero10 I cannot successfully burn a CD or DVD. This also happened when under W7 (on the Gigabyte X58 MoBo). Workarounds only seem available for Vista!

Hey Guys,

Here is what I found if you connect Samsung SSD Drive, to the Gigabyte X58A..motherboard "Gigabyte G-SATA connection" to windows 10 64bit big problem.

The bad news is if you are going to use ACHI for the SSD Drive, do not use a Samsung Pro Drive Gigabyte GSATA connection on MB controller has a problem with Windows 10 Pro. just use a different SATA port, not the GSATA bad news that is the AHCI for the
SSD interface.. Give it a try win is working for me know. Funny PHY works Samsung has a problem with a Gigabyte controller.

Also stay away from Samsung SSD Drive go to PNY or somthing..

 

Use Marvell 3... Why would you not lol?

 

Well i read here and there marvel sata3 is slower than intel sata2 etc etc . but didnt find any proof.as i sayd my benchmars show marvel is faster but not as it must be. sata3 should max spead/write speeds but i dont get more than 300-350 read/write speeds on sata3.
or maybe i do something wrong?

 

The only way the Marvell controller is slower is that it's an additional drive controller to be loaded at the initial boot, but being as it's probably already enabled, then that's not a problem! Use the SATA III Marvell port *Smile

 

These aren't rhetorical questions:

Does the Win 10 installer include drivers for the Marvell controller?

Would Windows 10 install on a drive on the Marvell controller even without special drivers?

Does Win 10 support the installation of extra drivers during the Windows installation? (Prior versions of Windows: invoked by the F6 hotkey.)
