    Microsoft Acquires GitHub?

Okaaaayyyy.... Maybe we should start making a list of alternatives to GitHub?

Also, GitHub is a private company, but who owns it? Who gets money from this move?

    Electron from GitHub - needed?

Windows 10. A program named Electron from GitHub, Inc. has shown up in my Startup list of programs. What is it, do I need it, where did it come from? I didn't authorize it to be installed. If I do a search on Electron it just gives me info
on it being software to "electron - Build cross platform desktop apps with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS". I don't build any apps or write code.

Can I delete it without any harm to Win 10 or other software?

    Microsoft Acquires GitHub?

It's right in the article. Microsoft is one of the biggest user of Github and no matter what people want to think Github has been struggling, loosing money for quite a while now. So it makes sense for Microsoft to buy it, if only so they can continue to use it. But more likely they will integrate it into their ecosystem. Will this mean change for Github? Absolutely, but Github needed a change. It was no longer sustainable in its current form, it wasn't making any money, and if it can't make money it can't continue to live in its current form.
