Windows 10: Giving apps file permissions?

I downloaded Enter the Gungeon and want to install Mod the Gungeon, but when I try opening EtG.exe with it, it says I have to get permission from the owner. I've gone through all the hassle of giving myself admin and transferring ownership to my account, so I AM the owner. I've also given the user account it opens full access to the folder. Are there any ways around this or am I screwed?

• When you say, “how to give permissions” do you receive any error regarding permissions?
  
• Are you trying to provide permissions to a file, folder or drive?
  

In the meantime, you may refer the article
"Access Denied" or other errors when you access or work with files and folders in Windows and check if that helps.



Note: The above article is for Windows 8 however, holds good for Windows 10.

App Permissions

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.



Some apps require certain permissions to work properly. However, you can change the permissions given to the apps by following the below steps:

1. Click on Start.
   
2. Click on Settings and then click on Privacy.
   
3. Under the App Permissions you can change the permissions which are assigned for the apps.
   

However, you can go through the
Microsoft Privacy Statement.
