Giving my old laptop to a friend.

I am currently the only person using this laptop and I am the admin
    with a Microsoft account.

What is the easiest and best way for my friend to create his own Microsoft account
and become the administrator of the laptop?

Can I have him create a MS account while being logged in to the machine under my
account. Then have him log me off and sign himself in using his MS account?

How do I remove me as admin and make him admin?

    :)

I am going to give my laptop away to a friend, and want to know how to reset back to Windows 10

Ask the computer manufacturer (or consult the documentation) for the way to do a factory reset.

If your friend already has a Hotmail account or an Outlook.com account they can use that as their Microsoft account.

If you still need to create an account go to microsoft.com/account

    There is a create link.

Now back to windows. Click on Setting, accounts, family and other people. Add your friend. It will ask for account address. As I said it can be their hotmail or outlook.com account. (actually it could also be an msn.com or live.com depending on how long they have had account.)

It will add an account for your friend. It will be a standard account. Click on the account. Click on change account type, make them an administrator.

Come out of settings. Press Alt+F4 on desktop. A windows appears, select sign out. The start window appears, click once, click on your friends new id, lower right. Enter password

Then head to settings, accounts, Family and Other people, click on your account, click on remove.

How much do you trust your friend, and how much do you value your privacy? When I prepare a used computer for someone else, I clean install Windows 10, wiping the hard drive/SSD in the process. On the first boot up I enter Audit Mode (Shift+Ctrl+F3) and set up all the hardware drivers and do updates and make a system backup image if desired. This is all done under the built-in administrator account. Then set Sysprep to boot back into OOBE and let them have the computer just like it was fresh out of the box turning on for the first time. Booting back into OOBE disables the built-in administrator account and removes the temporary user folder it was using.

  6. Thanks everyone for your ideas and suggestions.
Trust is a non issue as there is nothing on this laptop that is not public information anyway.
I will add friend as a new user and make him admin.
Sign myself out and log back in with his credentials.

    Again, thanks.
