Windows 10: Google announces .dev, a new top-level domain (TLD)

Today, Google Registry is announcing .dev, a brand new top-level domain (TLD) that's dedicated to developers and technology. Like our recent launches for .app and .page, this new domain will be secure by default because it requires HTTPS to connect to all .dev websites. This protects people who visit your site against ad malware and tracking injection by internet service providers, and from spying when using open WiFi networks. With every .dev website that’s launched, you help move the web to an HTTPS-everywhere future.

Starting today at 8:00 a.m. PT and through February 28, .dev domains are available to register as part of our Early Access Program, where you can secure your desired domains for an additional fee. The fee decreases according to a daily schedule. Beginning on February 28, .dev domains will be available at a base annual price through your registrar of choice. Google Registry announces new .page top-level domain with SSL

Today we’re announcing .page, the newest top-level domain (TLD) from Google Registry.

A TLD is the last part of a domain name, like .com in “google.com” or .google in “blog.google” (the site you’re on right now). The .page TLD is a new opportunity for anyone to build an online presence. Whether you’re writing a blog, getting your business online, or promoting your latest project, .page makes it simple and more secure to get the word out about the unique things you do.

Ellen.Page is the website of Academy Award®-nominated actress and producer Ellen Page that will spotlight LGBTQ culture and social causes.

Home.Page is a project by the digital media artist Aaron Koblin, who is creating a living collection of hand-drawn houses from people across the world. Enjoy free art daily and help bring real people home by supporting revolving bail.

Security is a top priority for Google Registry’s domains. Both .page and .app, which we launched in May, will help move the web to an HTTPS-everywhere future.

.page domains are available now through the Early Access Program. You are posting in a forum which is for user support of IE. Do you have a problem with IE? Otherwise, it would probably be best to go ask for help in a Google Chrome support site.

Windows Server 2016 - Setup Local Domain Controller

Hi Bcil, welcome to Ten Forums.

A local domain is as name says local. It should not be named as any existing domain. If you have a site up and running on http://MyExtremelyGoodBusiness.com, you should not use that name for your local domain.

In fact, you should not even use official top level domains in the name of your local domain (.com, .net, .org, .co.uk, .fr and so on). You can use pretty much anything else you want to; I used to use .home on my local domains but as .homes (for real estate agents) was accepted to the list of official top level domains I wanted to change mine as it was in my opinion too close.
