Windows 10: Google Cast is now built-in to Chrome

My 4K Sony XBR TV in here TV has embedded Miracast , Google Cast, 4K Neflix and 4K You Tube ,Kodi from the Google play store ,a Google web Browser, voice search ,face detection to go on standby if nobody is in the room and probably everything else you can name that is plausible today .

I never used Miracast but I think Google cast is very plausible , fast and convenient in liew if a wired or networked connection to a PC if you don't expect it to replace an IPTV extender ,game console extender or a smart TV.

G.C. works well as Chrome browser extender and when its paired with an Andoid TV it has few other benefits you may not get with the HDMI dongle .

That's way cool I did not rember that from past reading .......*really.


I will probably get a GC dongle or two for some TV's here not connected to fixed PC and also use it with the convenient Core i7 HP Elite book without the MD >HDMI cable or use it with a phone to use Chrome & D*TV on Chrome for the TV in the day room in a separate building out back that doesn't have a D*TV room client .

 

If folks want to settle for using Edge such that it is and not use any number of better browsers like Chrome then you probably wont be needing a GC device or embedded GC TV or the GC Roku Channel or whatever downloadable TV app Samsung probably has like that.

There are those of us that wont settle for Edge and prefer a real full functioning web browser like Chrome or Firefox and think the GC platform is entirely plausible with a Chrome web browser on a PC, Phone or mobile .

My 4K HDR Sony Anrdoid TV has Google Cast and Chrome and Opera web browsers, Android Kodi, 4K Netflix and 4K You Tube ,Miracast blue tooth ,Andoid Skype ,Sony console game streaming and probably everything else on the planet plausible today built in or downloadable anyway .

I have 3 other TV's not wired to a fixed PC or that are not Android TV's like this one or wired to a PC like the 1080p Sony here and all this is very plausible on those 3 other sets with my Core i7 HP Elitebook or a phone and even on my Samsung PN64f8500 in the frt. room.

Windows 10 ain't all that for pushing content to a TV without a wire or LAN and generally extenders or smart TV's are better and way more efficient at all that than windows PC's anyway .

I even play my media HDD's straight into my Sony XBR on Andoid Kodi now . HTPC are things of the past outside of an elaborate dedicated custom $$$$ HT build with a Crestron control system or like that or maybe a simple NAS server and a compatible resident smart TV app or extender .

Ok I give up, I installed google chrome 53 yesterday and I do not see google chromecast anywhere.
