I loaded Vivaldi and it doesn't interest me at all, just lots of eye candy too me, for speed still Opera 2014 is still way ahead from every browser to this date...

But mind you Vivaldi can go somewhere in time and hopefully their design sticks around for the PC Desktop Workstation user

 

wow. You should respect the choices the owner of the computer has made and not impose your own views on them. After all they have paid for that device with their hard earned money.

I learnt a long time ago never to change things on someone elses computer and live with the decisions they have made because thats what they are used to. This is particularly true of business computers. I made the mistake once of changing the resolution on a computer at work once because I thought it should be higher. Apparently the bespoke software they had would only work at the resolution it was set to. There are so many nuances relating to other people's machines and without the full facts you could be making it worse for them. Maybe theres a reason they chose Chrome.

When I was interviewed for my current job, they asked if I used Chrome (because of its inbuilt translator) which I do.

Never ever impose your views on people. Its a slippery slope and could lose you customers.

(oh and Seamonkey is just Firefox with various other Mozilla software added like Thunderbird.)

Plus next time you look in internet options you will notice lots of features gone from IE 11 example Bing addons no longer will be supported within IE 11 going forward

I got an email from the last few in the IE department that stated IE is on its way out and perhaps ripped out of Windows 10 2016 Major Wave Upgrade

I guess MS seen the light that it makes no sense beating on a dead horse anymore they finally will put IE to bed

I believe it. Out of the people that I know, only two use Firefox. The other use Chrome or Safari on Mac.

 

And most of the people I know use Firefox.

 

I doubt that it is safer (given Google's involvement).

It is definitely less customizable than FF or PM.

 

Personally I've used Firefox for at least 10 years. I've tried Chrome but didn't like it, I don't like Edge either. The thing is Chrome is probably fine and so will Edge be eventually. I think it all boils down to what browser a user feels at home with. When I first tried Chrome it took a while of searching around to find out what function was where, with Edge it's an annoyance to find out where anything is. So I stick with FF, I know what extensions I like and use, for me it's easily configurable and it does everything I want it to with the minimum of effort.

Most users don't want a learning curve when it comes to browsers so they'll happily stay with what they are used to.

 

Chrome is proven in independent testing safer than Firefox or the others , Edge and IE11 beat F/F also ( they all sandbox and don't need Adobe Flash plugins F/F does not yet but you can Google search all that anyway don't just take my word for all that .

OTOH Firefox is a real decent web browser just not my default browser choice that's all.. but it fills in very well when W10 doesn't behave with Chrome x64 on any given W 10 test build here so I wont knock it and I've always liked it anyway . *really

I've been using Firefox x64 for well over a year now. It's been out in beta builds for quite a while. Now on general release.

 

You can give Chromium a try.
There are some builds available with all video codecs built-in, no sync, no webrtc, and optional for those who live on Flash, install PPAPI standalone.
Download latest stable Chromium binaries (64-bit and 32-bit)

It's less customizable than FF or PM, I agree, but is way more faster than both. I doubt if less secure than FF.
Meanwhile waiting for multiprocess FF version... IE, Edge & all Chromes use it; might explain the load times...

 

Right I cheated (or wised up) and looked in Google and found out F/F is 64 bits now ( I thought I might be stepping in it there ) , it's seems a little faster lately also .......it's plenty fast *really

 

I came from IE. Now I'm using Edge and It's perfect for my needs. I don't use Extensions or AddOns by the way. Most folks I know use Chrome, mostly because it's familiar to them at this point.

 

Good that we all have choices ........just proves we arent completely in a Collectivist Tyrannical Oligarchy ( quite yet ) *Cool
