    Excuse me - it is functional on my PC. Unfortunately, it is not on his now, whereas it was formerly, with other evidence suggesting his Windows installation is unsound. The issue is therefore to resolve that. Can you make any helpful suggestions that might achieve that?

    Yes, old programs can still be a thing of beauty. I'm still running Lotus Approach for my database on windows 10 although IBM stopped updating it in 1998. I'd love to find something on the market today that does everything as well as Approach does and I'd buy it in a moment. Fortunately the folks at IBM that built it didn't take any shortcuts. It must comply with every requirement of DOS as it existed in 1998 and miraculously it still runs flawlessly on the latest 64 bit machines.

    As for my computer, I find I had made an ISO back in June but forgotten about it. I used it to do a clean install of Windows 10 Home, but I've soured on Google Desktop. I'm currently trying Copernic on a trial basis and so far I love it. It does much more than Google Desktop and does it faster. I just didn't know it existed until it was mentioned in this thread. So thanks for solving my problem even it did take an unusual turn.

    There's also X1 and Lookeen, and open source Docfetcher.

    The latest iso will be for build 1607, anniversary edition, August onwards.
