I did some research on your HP laptop and I totally agree with Plankton, as it is not really a gaming laptop that can play the latest gaming software with decent settings. Older software, well, yes, but you'll find out more when you receive your "surprise" gift. The Intel HD GPU is integrated into the motherboard and like I posted before, Speccy should tell you the version of your Intel HD GPU, either Intel HD Graphics 2000 or 3000, for example. You can then Google what games are supported/playable. Below is a snip of my system running Speccy:



As you can see, it lists all the info you will need - processor speed, GPU, motherboard, avail RAM, etc. No need to open laptop (I don't recommend this)!

Also, how did you hook up your external monitor up to your laptop? Is it compatible with HDMI? Did you cycle through the menu options on your monitor to select the desired input? I know when I first attached my monitor I got a blank screen but then in the monitor's menu I had to select "HDMI 2" to get a picture. Then I went into PC's settings and configured it to use an external display (Settings -> System -> Display).

 

No external monitor. haven't tried hooking up the HDMI to see if it works after doing a clean install.
I been using TV as external monitor for my ACER with Win 7, monitor works for a few seconds and goes out. when I hit the power button, monitor lights up with a red tint, when lock screen comes up, monitor goes black. it took some hard hits on the floor a bunch of times. busted casing around heat pipe. still works, just need external monitor.
