Windows 10: Grayscale printing default

I’ve configured the printer driver to always print in black and white by default, but I’m encountering an issue where some Windows/Office applications don’t consistently revert to grayscale after switching to color printing.For instance, when I change the print settings to color in Microsoft Word, close the application, and reopen it, the default is correctly set back to grayscale. However, when I change the print settings to color in Excel or Microsoft Edge, these applications do not revert to grayscale after closing and reopening them.We have hundreds of applications across the organization,

I have the HP Officejet 4652 and was unable to switch back to color printing. Color/grayscale was not on the menu bar. The only way I could fix it was to uninstall and reinstall the printer. After searching online and getting no answers, I use that as my default
fixing wireless printing issues. Once I thought of it, it was a quick resolution.
