Windows 10: Green Screen of Death on Windows 10 pro - custom build PC

Specs:

CPU: Intel i7 6700k

Motherboard: GA Z170X Gaming 7

GPU: MSI Radeon R9 380

Monitor: Asus VS248H-P

OS: Windows 10 Pro

OS on SSD: Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe

This has been a problem for a very long time and I want to figure out the source of the issue before I go forward buying anything for future upgrades, and its about that time anyway as far as my GPU goes, and very old monitor.

I have a sneaking suspicion that because the Asus VS248H-P monitor doesn't have drivers for windows 10, that this could very well be the issue.

I have tried different HDMI cables for it in the past and nothing works.

It's also worth noting that the audio cuts out as well when the green screen occurs, but I am running my sound via USB focusrite scarlet 2i4, to my monitors.

Any help would be greatly appreciated before I just decide to get a new monitor with gaurenteed windows 10 drivers, as I want to upgrade to a 21:9 1440p display...which means I may need a new GPU, not sure if my R9 380 can handle that. And now is definitely not the time to buy a GPU.

I will update this post for further clarity as I gain an understanding, and hopefully learn the source of the issue.

Windows 10 testers will now get a Green Screen of Death




"Windows’ infamous Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) is turning a shade of green for Windows 10 testers soon. A leaked preview build of Windows 10 (build 14997) emerged on the internet earlier this week, and it includes a number of new features and changes. One of the biggest is a Green Screen of Death instead of the regular BSOD. Microsoft employee Matthijs Hoekstra teased the change on Twitter, and MSPoweruser reports that it was eventually discovered by Twitter user Chris123NT.

It’s not clear why Microsoft has picked green over blue for its Windows 10 Insider builds, but Hoekstra confirms this new color scheme is only for preview participants. It’s likely that Microsoft wants to distinguish between genuine BSOD issues and problems and crashes that are more likely to occur during the testing of Windows 10 builds. A number of Windows 10 preview users publish issues like BSODs publicly on blogs or social networks, and turning the color green will help Microsoft identify them during the test phase. Microsoft last updated the BSOD with QR codes, years after adding a frowning face for Windows 8.

Microsoft has put its public testing of Windows 10 on hold for the festive period, and the company isn’t planning to introduce any new builds until next month. The leaked 14997 build also includes options to enable Cortana during the initial PC setup phase, a F.lux-like blue light reduction feature, traces of an Xbox Game Mode, Microsoft Edge tab improvements, and app folders for the Start Menu."

Purple Screen of Death

Mainly seen when the VMkernel of an ESX/ESXi host experiences a critical error,
becomes inoperative and terminates any virtual machines that are running.
Requires reboot using the power button.

Brown Screen of Death

Mostly associated with game-plays, linked mainly to graphics.
Usually arrives when a PC game forces CPU and memory to run at speeds higher than
their official speed grade (over-clocking).

Yellow Screen of Death

Happened usually with Firefox accompanied by a weird buzzing sound, after an XML.
Probably does not exist any more.

Red Screen of Death

Mostly indicates issues related to the graphics driver and the corresponding
applications, caused usually by installing wrong drivers or by software conflicts
on boot.

Orange Screen of Death

Usually indicates fatal hardware errors and has many causes such as
watching a video, when booting into Windows, waking up from Sleep, BitLocker,
or when adding a second monitor

Green Screen of Death

Intended for Windows Insiders testing for upcoming Windows 10 test builds,
to make it easier for Microsoft support staff to differentiate between errors
in test builds and in production.

As Microsoft staff are not infallible, sometimes colored BSODs happen not
according to the above purpose.

Green Screen of Death usually appears in my system... although i had uninstalled all the recent updates.

What should i do kindly suggest me solutions
