Windows 10: Groove Music will not display more than 100 Albums

I would like to use Groove Music to play albums stored on my OneDrive available offline on my computer but it will only display the first 100 albums that it has detected.

I have copied over all of my music and albums to my OneDrive and have set Groove Music to detect my "Music" folder within my OneDrive directory on my PC, but it doesn't seem to automatically update with any new albums added to that directory. I can manually go to the album's directory in File Explorer and select all the music files and play them, but that does not add the album to Groove Music for easy access later.


Windows Media Player automatically adds the album if all the tracks are selected and opened with Media Player, but will not add them automatically either. At the moment, I have been using Windows Media Player instead due to it adding my more recent albums, unlike Groove Music.


Is it that Groove Music can only display/read up to 100 albums or is there some other setting or issue that I am unaware of?

Groove Shows Unknown Artist & Unknown Album


I solved it by doing the following! I'm not sure which step cracked the problem.

1. Set indexing to index the content of my music files by right clicking on the top level folder, setting the option and applying to all files and sub-folders
2. Rebuilt the index via the Control Panel Indexing options
3. Deleted the folders watched in Groove
4. Deleted the Groove database at C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.ZuneMusic_<random>\LocalState\Database
5. Started Groove
6. Reassigned the folders to watch

All songs now appear with the right artist & album but some album art was missing in Groove and Media Player despite being displayed correctly in iTunes. I manually updated the missing album art in Media Player and Groove then synchronised to match the Media Player album art.

 

Groove and Album details..


- anybody know how I can force Groove to accept a particular picture for an album cover?

- there is actually a picture included in the music folder, but Groove hasn't picked it up, and a search
from within the Groove app itself for the album details, yields only the song-list and not the album cover..(??) *Confused

Bring up an album in Groove, click on 'More...', then click on 'Get album info'.
