Windows 10: Group by none is missing since Windows 11 tabbed file explorer downdate was applied

Recently my computer applied the latest Windows 11 downdate and now, when I do a file Save As, I can select a folder and have to save into but it applies the Windows preferred grouping. Previously I had group by none available on file explorer and when I applied it to all views, it would apply. Now the option is gone and saving files is much more tedious. I've manged to get File Explorer itself to group by none but all my File Save As dialog boxes are grouped by Windows ageing, which is useless to me. Is this another feature downgrade that Windows 11 have introduced to further alienate me from

Missing Tab On File Explorer

This still happens with Windows version 20H2, just happened to me.

A workaround is:

After navigating to the desired search folder or drive, click in the search box (upper right corner), a list of recent searches will appear below the box. Click one, then press enter; ignore the files that appear. Now the Search Tools tab and ribbon will appear.

File Explorer group-by in Windows 11

I cannot change the group-by view settings in File Explorer. The current setting is to group by date, with newest files grouped first. I want no grouping, and sorted by file name. Other posts have told me to go to the Folder Options, click the View tab, and select "Apply to Folders." Not only does this not help, it actually resets my current folder to the prior settings.

It boggles my mind that such a basic thing is an issue.

 

Tabbed File Explorer for Windows 11 (KB5019509)

My Win 11 updates are current.

I am using a new Lenovo V14-ARE 14" FHD.

My update history doesn't show KB5019509 which adds a tabbed file explorer.

I downloaded update KB5019509 from the Microsoft and when I ran it I get a message say "This update does not apply to your computer"

Why is this happening and how do I correct it?
