Group Policies not saving. Win 10 v2004

    Hello,

So I'm trying to disable anti virus, especially realtime protection, but every time I reboot, gpedit settings revert back to normal. Never had this issue before.

I read some guy solved it by this method:

did some digging and googling and found what caused it at least in my case. It was FSRM role that we installed it to prevent ransomware change files extensions.
I removed file screens and rebooted server and it fixed GPO immediately. It's a bug in 2019 server family, MS is aware. It has something to do with sysvol if you put file screen on the C drive.
    Anyway, hope this will help.

Not sure how to go about that, or if there's another simpler fix.

    Thanks!

    :)

    GROUP POLICIES IN WINDOWS 10

You can change Group Policies by opening Group Policy Editor first. You can open it by following these steps:

    • Log in an administrator account. If you are already logged in as an administrator, proceed to step 2.
    • Press Windows + R to open Run.
    • Type gpedit.msc and press Enter.

After opening Group Policy Editor, you can now make the necessary changes that you want.

Should you have more concerns, feel free to post.

    Regards.

    group policy editor

    Hi Tony,

Group Policy Editor in Windows is a tool to help you manage policy settings. Here's how you can access the Local Group Policy Editor:

    • Press Win+R to open Run.
    • Type gpedit.msc, and then click OK.

Let us know how else we can help.
