  1. Group Policy Failed

I am currently in the process of trying to repair my dad's laptop as this morning when he tried to log on to his account (which is the only account on the computer), it said that the group policy failed, and that the access was denied. (BTW I work in technical support, so I do have knowledge regarding group policy and regedit etc)

I have looked online and seen a load of different answers, which all look like they coul work, however when I am looking into some of the registery files, more specifically the SVCHOST folder, I am noticing a great deal of 'files' missing, as compared to the pictures shown on said websites.

This is where my knowledge of registry's lacks, do different computers have different parts of the windows NT registry missing (for example even the camera 'file' is missing from the registry, which I believe should just be on the registry as standard).

I know it might be a far stretch, but could a malicious file delete specific elements required by windows to log in. I even had to recreate the GPSvcGroup folder as it was completely missing, along with a vast multitude of other folders and files.

I have made a Windows 10 installation USB drive which hopefully I can use to repair the windows registry, however there seems to be another issue with the system (which I believe to be linked to this issue), causing the computer to bluescreen, and then when I restart the system, Toshiba goes through its own diagnostics, which stops me from being able to enter the BIOS or boot drive start up, in order to change the boot drive to the USB.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    :)

  2. Failed to connect to the group policy client services

    Hi Mukul,

Thank you for posting in Community. I understand your concern and we will try to assist you in the best way we can.

The issue that you are facing may be due to the reasons stated below:

    · User Profile Service or Group Policy Client service stopped working.

    · Antivirus software conflicts.

    · I would suggest that you first check if the services for Group Policy are running.

To do so follow the steps mentioned below
    :

    • Find the Group Policy Client service.
    • Right click on the service, and click on Properties.
    • The service status should be started and startup type
automatic, if not, change the values accordingly, then click Apply and then OK.
    • Press Windows + R key and type "services.msc" and press enter.

Let us know if this helps.

    Group Policy Failed

    GROUP POLICIES IN WINDOWS 10

You can change Group Policies by opening Group Policy Editor first. You can open it by following these steps:

    • Log in an administrator account. If you are already logged in as an administrator, proceed to step 2.
    • Press Windows + R to open Run.
    • Type gpedit.msc and press Enter.

After opening Group Policy Editor, you can now make the necessary changes that you want.

Should you have more concerns, feel free to post.

    Regards.
