Windows 10: GSMA reschedules MWC 2021 to late June 2021

23 September 2020, London: GSMA today announced a rescheduling of its world-class MWC series for 2021. MWC21 Shanghai will now take place from 23 â 25 February 2021, and MWC21 Barcelona will now take place between 28 June â 1 July 2021.

Moving MWC21 Barcelona, initially scheduled for the first week of March 2021, allows the GSMA to contend with external circumstances related to Covid-19.

The GSMA is committed and investing so that MWC21 Barcelona can go ahead safely and offer the unique, unmissable experience that has made it the worldâs most important mobile ecosystem convening platform. MWC21 Barcelona will also have virtual elements to complement the overwhelming demand to convene physically.

Mats Granryd, Director General, GSMA said: âWith a continuously changing global outlook and following consultation with our board and membership and our top exhibitors, we have taken the careful decision to reschedule MWC21 Shanghai in February, and MWC21 Barcelona in June. The health and safety of our exhibitors, attendees, staff and the people of Barcelona are of paramount importance.â

The rescheduling respects the global circumstance surrounding Covid-19. It recognises that both events are catalysts in the mobile ecosystem; they are platforms for launching new products and innovations, bringing together decision and deal makers.

The GSMA continues to work closely with the Host City Parties, and the decision to change the date of MWC21 Barcelona follows a period of planning and consultation with all major stakeholders. The date changes also ensure that 2021 reverts to a full annual cycle of MWC events between Shanghai, Barcelona and LA. Both the Host City Parties and the GSMA board support the decision of the GSMA.

28 July 2020, London: The GSMA today announced that it is moving its 4YFN event from Fira Montjuïc and co-locating it with MWC Barcelona 2021 at Fira Gran Via. Combining these two influential events signals a new era and commitment to working together to fulfil the potential of mobile technology, connecting everyone and everything to a better future.

COMPUTEX Rescheduled to June 1-5, 2021

The outbreak of pandemic Covid-19 has disturbed all major economic sectors of the whole world. Many countries have imposed travel restrictions to help curb the spread of Covid-19. COMPUTEX stakeholders, including international exhibitors, visitors and media, may not be able to join the show consequently. Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and Taipei Computer Association (TCA), the organizers of COMPUTEX, therefore decided to reschedule COMPUTEX to 2021.

As of June 11, more than 7,350,000 people have been diagnosed across 187 countries worldwide, affecting the economy, trade, transportation, convention and tourism. With credit to Taiwan's government got a head start on smashing the virus, Taiwan has only 443 confirmed cases. Accordingly, how Taiwan makes efforts against Covid-19 has been reported by a lot of international medias, such as CNN, Bloomberg and so on.

COMPUTEX, as a leading global ICT exhibition, where leaders of world-renowned tech enterprises shared industry insights, hosted 1,685 exhibitors from 30 countries and attracted 42,495 visitors from 171 countries in its 2019 edition. COMPUTEX 2021 will take place from June 1 to 5 to continue its commitment of building global technology ecosystems.

To keep the tech industry connected with COMPUTEX, TAITRA is launching a series of online services.
