  1. GTX 970 hardware or drivers causing BSOD?

Hello - here is my situation:

Approx 1 week ago I upgraded from a GTX 770 (had absolutely NO issues, infact I cant remember the last time I saw a BSOD with this PC)

Upgraded to a R9 390X card, and sold my 770. Within a day, I started to get random reboots, crashes, freezes.
Returned the R9 390X and bought a GTX 970 (reference card, just like my 770 was)
Installed new card, no change in behavior, and would crash numerous times a day, in game, desktop, browser.
Reformatted and reinstalled Windows 10 X64, installed all Windows Updates and current drivers. Same issues occurring, and I can not pinpoint it. I have not added any new hardware besides the video card.

I have attached the dump files. Any assistance would be great, I can not find a way to duplicate the issue, as its random and doesn't really matter what I am doing.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

Thank you for your reply. Turns out. I have a bad motherboard. I had to RMA it.

    Thanks.

Disabled device, why? Is this deliberate? Remove Asus PC Probe and update your Realtek PCI NICDRV 8169 PCIe GBE Family Controller driver.

  5. The only device I disabled was the Microsoft Game Controller - when using the Razr Tartarus the PC will never goto sleep if this device is left enabled. On previous systems I also had to disable this device, and I never had any issues.

I dont know what Asus probe is, its not an application that I installed and on Asus's website there are no available utilities to install for Windows 10. Also there are drivers provided by Asus's website for Windows 10 for the sound and I think possibly the NIC, however they are older than the currently installed drivers and I had already tried them once and no luck.

Since the original posting I have re-formatted AGAIN, let Windows install all its drivers from Microsoft, let the Threshold 2 update come down, and then I reinstalled my Geforce software with the newest versions and I havent had any issues since knock on wood.

Sounds like Microsoft should stay the hell out of the driver provider business, they seem to fk that up.

  6. Yes. Very much so, Microsoft has caused a lot of problems by delivering unstable updates to systems.
