  2. Constant alerts of 100mb Data partition after updating to windows 10 from windows 7.

I had downloaded the win10 update a while ago but was putting off upgrading till I knew more about it. I woke up one morning to find that it decided to do it on its own. Oh well. All seems to be working fine except 1 thing. Ever since the upgrade I get
a msg every few minutes telling me that I am running out of space on my drive H:. It is a 100mb partition that I believe had something to do with windows 7 and now is labeled as "Data". As you can see it is only listed as a Primary partition. I've read
other posts about people wanting to delete the 100mb partition but there's all list system. The partition isn't even listed as active.

    This
is all that's in it. When I select everything it comes to no where near the 100mb. about 15mb. Yet Disk management says only 2mb

remain. Can I get rid of this partition? Or is there a way to extend the partition so I stop getting the messages? Ive tried shrinking the C: drive partition to extend the data(HH: 100mb system partition? :) partition but it stays greyed out.

Recovery Partition vs System Reserved Partition

Thanks for all the info guys.

Both original & target SSD's are listed as MBR as opposed to UEFI. I may have created a partition unknowingly in getting the original/new unformatted drive recognized, but I don't recall taking any steps that Windows did not step me through.

Not that an upgrade to WIN 10 Pro is contemplated, but I suspect that having no System Reserved partition will not allow that to happen, after seeing how the original WIN 10 upgrade created a problem for some WIN 7 users that had a smaller 100mb vs 500mb System Reserved partition.

    H: 100mb system partition?

Drive H: reserved for system nearly full

If it's the system partition, it typically contains your boot information for starting the computer. It doesn't typically get assigned a drive letter. You can press [Windows key + x] select "Disk Management". If you see the H drive with the label "system partition" then that is all it is. Assuming the partition is on your main disk (Disk 0) you can remove the drive letter as follows
    • Open an elevated command prompt
    • Type diskpart
    • Type list disk
    • Identify which disk the system partition is on (you can do this from disk management)
    • Select the disk withselect disk #
    • Now list the partitions with list vol
    • Look for the one with System under the info column
    • Select it with select vol #
    • Now remove the drive letter with remove letter=H
