Windows 10: Halo is not installed even though it is - Code 0x80073CF9

I've been wresting with windows store for weeks now but I can't play Halo master chief collection in any reliable way. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Usually it says I've not got the game installed even though I have. I've downloaded the 87gb of the game twice but still it insists that I don't have it.


Things I've tried:

wsreset

Terminate and reset windows store from the settings > apps menu

Uninstalling the game from the command line

Removing computers from the devices list - https://account.microsoft.com/devices/


I'm trying to play the game on my PC and laptop. Surely it's possible to at least use it on 2 computers as long as it's not simultaneously?


I get more errors each day:

Today I loaded the game but I got the first error about not being installed. So I closed the game in total misery and got this error for my trouble:



The UE4-MCC Game has crashed and will.. Fatal error!


I'm running on PC with:

Windows 7 64bit Professional build 7601 SP1AMD Radeon R7 200 series1tb hdd
Sandisk 1tb SSD

CPU: Intel i5-4690 3.50ghz

Memory: HyperX 8gb 2400mhz CL11 DDR3
Motherboard: Asus H81M-Plus - Part: 90MB0G10-M0EAY0

Error code 0x80073CF9 when installing apps from the Windows Store

I'm receiving the following error when trying to install apps from the Windows Store on Windows 10. It doesn't occur with every program, which makes it extremely frustrating to debug. The Event Viewer is no help, as it provides the same cryptic messages:

• Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070490: Gears of War 4.
• Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80073CF9: Gears of War 4.
• Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80073CF9: Carcassonne.
• Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070490: Candy Crush Saga.
• Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80073CF9: Candy Crush Saga.

I've Googled this error and searched TenForums but found nothing to help. SFC /SCANNOW reports no errors, re-registering the Windows Store app does nothing, disabling BitDefender does nothing. Is any real help available, or do I have to file a scam report with PayPal since Microsoft is incapable of managing a simple software download?

 

code: 0x80073CF9 When im trying to install Sea of Thieves

Hi.

The first method you listed didn't work as it gave me the same error code when i tried to install (0x80073CF9). However the troubleshooting found a problem. "Service registration is missing or corrupt" but the troubleshooter didn't solve the issue by itself.
It says "not solved" next to the "Service registration is missing or corrupt" with a red cross. What do you suggest i do next?
