+1, Drivers are created by hardware vendors and not MS. MS is not the one to blame. When 10 first came out there were lots of driver compatibility issues and the vendors have mostly caught up with updating them.

  2. - Of course it mine experience and I have greatly suffered from crashes to strange things on sleep/hibernates, etc...
    - I have all my working set drivers save now (never have to wonder about such things under Vista to 8.1)
    - I disabled MS driver automatic update, and strangely some time it sill does the update in some driver!!!
    - When I update TH2, MS overwrite my drivers that I know it works (such as Intel Graphics) that leads to crash.

Just look at how many problem reported here, it's overwhelming. This OS development philosophy and deployment is a catastrophic.

What about WDDM drivers, they are supposed to be certified by MS ?

No please read again, both ASUS and Intel sites document correctly which driver works on my HW, and only MS use a wrong driver. Drivers are none of MS business, but the MS Update is just awfully rigid and non-rigorously tested stubbornly feed my computers and the wrong one again and again.

I really think that the number of real issues is not as bad as one would think by the issues/problems that are posted here. People without issues don't report that everything went fine.

  6. I would have assumed this was common sense. People don't flock to forum boards to tell everyone that their system works perfectly fine. Any forum on any topic is full of people with questions or problems.

You, as well as a few others on here, need to realize that the vast majority of people who switched to Windows 10 did so without issue. Just check out the polls on sites like Neowin. If the vast majority had issues, then Microsoft would be to blame. Anytime there is an upgrade of any kind like this, even outside the Windows world, there will be people who have issues. Just because your upgrade didn't go smoothly or come with a signed photo of Satya Nadella, doesn't mean Microsoft failed.

  7. I (and MS) only install WHQL drivers, that does not prevent they are WRONG. For example if I update the driver of my Intel Graphics by clicking on "Search automatically for updates driver software", MS will load the one that leads to BSOD. This driver is NOT amended by ASUS and INTEL. So who's fault?

You could just follow this tutorial and you shouldn't have anymore of these issues:

  9. Well to me yes, and I think I have elaborated enough *why* in my case, since its entirely due to MS interventionist and non-rigorously deployment tests of drivers. They endorse the issue and no one else, nor in other versions of Windows.

It's not up to MS to test drivers. They get the drivers from companies like Asus and Intel. It's their job to test and make sure MS has the correct drivers. But check out the tutorial above.. that might help.

Intel and Asus for not providing the correct drivers. They manipulated the drivers to only work on their products. It is therefore incumbent on them to provide correct updated drivers. Microsoft only delivers drivers they are provided by Intel and Asus. It's really pretty simple. Microsoft does not make the drivers. They install the drivers provided them by the manufacturers.

Reading that whole post, and using very basic logic, the fault lies with Asus.

Why should users care who is the provider to MS the drivers? The Asus/Intel site is correct and crystal clear, MS is NOT and wrong, and furthermore I can't believe Asus and Intel involve anyhow in the keeping track MS driver database, certification, decision tree in the process of update driver. MS doesn't have a solid infrastructure to ensure the correct deployment. Let users rather deal directly with the vendor and minimize the mistakes. That's why MS should ever interfere to driver business as with Win10.

MS has been following the same procedure when they supply drivers for years and years. What happens with 10 is no different that with say, 7. And if Asus/Intel don't supply the correct drivers for MS that's not the fault of MS.

It's that simple, like it or not.

  15. Really? MS should use ASUS's amended driver, instead they uses THEIR that creates BSOD (VIDEO_DXGKRNL_FATAL_ERROR) .

    How it's ASUS endorsement?
