Windows 10: Hard Drive "Caution" questions and repair

Discus and support Hard Drive "Caution" questions and repair in Windows 10 Drivers and Hardware to solve the problem; I have a slave drive that is giving me Caution (according to Crystal).     Hard Drive "Caution" questions and repair


    I have a slave drive that is giving me Caution (according to Crystal).

    I have already backed it up using windows file explorer. MR would not back it up, but since there is no OS and it is not partitioned, it isn't an issue.

    I was wondering if this is a case of reformatting to fix it. Can I partition off the bad sectors?

    It has yellow beside :

    Current Pending Sector Count
    Uncorrectable sector count

    I ran the WD diagnostic tool QUICK SCAN and it failed almost immediately. I am going to run a full scan as well to see.

    Since this is not a boot drive, it still runs. Just wondering before I go and spend another $70 on a hard drive (note : this will be the third hard drive in about 1 month I have purchased!)

    Also, is there a recommendation of SSD over Platter for backup/storage devices that are internal

    WD Hard Drive Low Health & Caution

    Hey guys,
    i have 2x500GB hard drives
    SEagate and WD

    I have some a problem with my second hard drive. it showing me low health according to HArd Disk SEntimel and CrystalDiskInfo. its 85% which is not good if compare to Seagate 500Gb which is 99%.

    In the second screenshot you can see the the "Reallocated sector Count" Caution. i dont know what is it. do i need to worrie about it. or what you suggest.

    Overclock your hard drive!!!

    Heres a much easier hack that I realized quite a few years ago that really does work!

    REQUIREMENTS:
    • Hard drive with molex power connection.
    • PSU with more than 1 strand that has molex plugs on it.
    • Wire strippers, soldering iron if you're fancy, electrical tape if you're not.
    STEPS:
    • Take the strand of connectors from your PSU, and decide which one will be the donator for this overclocking adventure.
    • Cut the yellow and orange cables, then twist them together.
    • Find the power connector you've chosen as the overclocking connector, and release the orange cable from the connector. Now use your preferred method to bind them together, then place it back together.
    • Plug in a drive and feel the speed!
    Congratulations! You've just overclocked your hard drive!
