Windows 10: Hard drive failed after updating to windows 10 version 1903

The D drive (internal) failed after updating to windows 10 version 1903 (from 1807). It happened 12 days after the update so I cannot go back to the previous version of windows, the option is available for 10 days after the update. I know for sure windows 10 is the culprit since 4 years ago I had 2 old hard drives fail after updating to windows 10 from windows 7. D drive is a Seagate, 1 TB completely full. Is there a way to recover the hard drive? or is it gone? Also I am having trouble when restarting my computer, it says bad disk.

  Did you get any error messages while using the failed hard drive?

  When you say failed hard drive, are you referring to external hard drive or internal hard drive?
