Windows 10: Hard Drive Image Software

Discus and support Hard Drive Image Software in Windows 10 Installation and Upgrade to solve the problem; Being the Belt & Suspenders type of guy, I thought I would burn an image of my "C" Drive before I plunge into this upgrade.     Hard Drive Image Software


    Being the Belt & Suspenders type of guy, I thought I would burn an
    image of my "C" Drive before I plunge into this upgrade.

    Can anyone recommend a good Image Burner Software that won't
    cost a fortune ?

    Does anything exist in Windows 8.1 that I might use ?

    How to create Windows 10 system image on a usb flash drive

    Third-party image software will store an image on a USB flash drive.

    As a practical matter, however, you're better off storing images on a USB external hard drive aka portable hard drive. That will provide enough space to make images daily (or more often) and create a retention schedule.

    Transferring OS from external HD to brand-new pc

    Hello Phil, it depends on how you’re transferring your OS to the external hard drive, if you have disk imaging software like macrium Reflect & you create an image of C drive/internal hard drive then you can restore that image to the new hard drive, if
    you just plan to copy things over then you’ll still have to reinstall all apps, software etc & transfer all personal files back to the new drive which runs the risk of losing or corrupting things.
