Hard drives never goes to sleep

Thanks Kbird, that much I knew. But when I choose the driver (by using the location) I get the following list which does not correspond to the hardware or the selection of the more recent driver :

    Intel 8 series Chipset
    Itel 8 Series/C220 Chipset or
    Intel 9 Series Chipset

The original driver was Intel 100 Series/C230 Chipset

Bit I will choose the Intel 9 which I believe is the most recent in the proposed list.

Do you have the Show compatible hardware box checked when you choose "let me pick" in DM ? I just use whichever it suggests....

you maybe can compare the VEN numbers below in the INF file to whatever DM sees but was the 100 series around when the Driver was made? or on WinRaid on the 3rd post on this page

Hardware Info 64 (HWInfo64) is also a good program for more in depth info too ..run it with Sensors and summary boxes unchecked...

(mine is always DEV_2822 as I'm using raid , I think yours is dev-A102)

    PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C02&CC_0106.DeviceDesc = "Intel(R) 8 Series/C220 Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller"
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C03&CC_0106.DeviceDesc = "Intel(R) 8 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller"
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C82&CC_0106.DeviceDesc = "Intel(R) 9 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller"
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C83&CC_0106.DeviceDesc = "Intel(R) 9 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller"
    PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9C02&CC_0106.DeviceDesc = "Intel(R) 8 Series/C220 Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller"
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9C03&CC_0106.DeviceDesc = "Intel(R) 8 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller"
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9C82&CC_0106.DeviceDesc = "Intel(R) 9 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller"
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9C83&CC_0106.DeviceDesc = "Intel(R) 9 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller"

but I think it will only make a difference to as far as what DM calls it , I am using 12.9.4.1000 and Raid so I see it differently.
