Windows 10: Has anyone been successful in installing WIndows Live Photo Gallery (and in particular)...

Moving the Windows Live Common Files and Program Files from the Program Files and Program x86 Files areas in Windows 7 to corresponding areas in Windows 10 appears to be insufficient in successfully porting Windows Live to Windows 10. The Windows Live Installer program says that various DLL files are missing yet they have been ported to presumably correct areas in Windows 10. What else needs to be done to make the Windows Live import be successful?


As mentioned in the Subject Header, all I want out of Windows Live is the Photo Gallery/Photo Viewer capability. I have several thousand photos shows images (persons, ect.) were tagged using the Photo Gallery/Photo Viewer capability. Sadly, these are not accessible under Windows 10. Please help.

Any way to get the Windows Photo Viewer & Windows Live Photo Gallery?

Windows (Live) Photo Gallery comes with Windows Essentials as a package. ( MS has removed the word "Live" ).
Do you have Windows Essentials installed ?
The package includes Photo Gallery, Movie Maker, Windows Live Mail, Windows Live Writer, OneDrive.

Photo Gallery is Windows Live Photo Gallery, I think MS is just trying to lose the 'Live' moniker.

I have photo gallery installed with my windows 10, but according to my reserarch, there is also Windows Live Photo Gallery, which has more features.

All I can find is windows live essentials, but when i look at the programs it will install this is not shown...

Has MS renamed Windows Live Photo Gallery and just called it Photo gallery ?
Really confused

Have a zillion photos to tag and if I use an MS product it will be tagged within the photo unlike Picasa so will be better for my purposes, unless there is an alternative which adopts the MS tagging
