  2. Install on my Yoga 2 Pro seemed to go well. Post-install, screen rotation and keyboard/touchpad issues have been resolved by installing Win10 drivers from the Lenovo site.

Installed on 1 of my 2 systems on Wednesday. My laptop is a 6 month old with a decent i3 with 6GB RAM. Download took 20 min and another 90 min to complete the process. No crashes or BSOD's, everything seems to work but throws lots of errors especially ESENT with any full restart but seems to run fine afterwards. Hate the changes to the Photo App. overall I like what I see but am concerned about all the errors in Event Log although thankfully most are not critical or disabling.

Has anyone successfully installed the 10 upgrade?

All these are upgrades from Windows 7:

Asus Zenbook on Insider - Always clean throughout beta

    Asus eeePC 9" 1024x600 netbook that wouldn't install 8/8.1 - clean

Game machine with Asus motherboard and Via chipset and NVidia drivers - had to reinstall network, video and audio drivers. Specifically had to uninstall NVidia HD Audio drivers so I could install Via HD Audio Drivers.

Home-built PC with Asus motherboard - clean

Super cheap Home-built PC with i3 and MSI motherboard - clean

MacBook Pro with Parallels - Clean except I had to install the new version of Parallels to support it

So, all in all, it's been a very painless upgrade process. The biggest problem people seem to be having is not uninstalling their virus scanner first. Since I switched all my PCs to Microsoft Security Essentials a while back, I didn't have any problems.

I have finished 2 upgrades and 1 to go.
Desktop - Windows 8.1 Pro, got tired of waiting on GWX and used Media Creation Tool to download ISO.
Mounted W10 Pro ISO in W8.1 and did setup.exe. It went well with just a little cleanup and updates to drivers and programs.

Lenovo Laptop G505s - Windows 8.1, this one got the GWX download and it also went well with a little cleanup also.

Both of these will get clean installs in the future after I use them a while and work out any bugs that may show.

I have 1 Desktop to do that is running Windows 7 Home Premium and will use an ISO to upgrade this one. It's the wife's system so no hurry on doing it. Need to get very familiar with W10 before letting the Wife have a go.

  6. Two machines now successfully upgraded to W10 Pro with both receiving a clean install afterwards. One left to go.

All via the media creation tool I'll add, the update prompt still is yet to push anything through on my machines here in the UK.

Has anyone successfully installed the 10 upgrade?

Desktop (W7 Pro 64bit) Updated without any major problems (except activation issue -- server problem)
15 minutes after I upgraded to Windows 10, I restarted the PC, I logged in but the start menu wouldn't respond. I waited 15 minutes, restarted explorer.exe 3-4 times, suddenly it started to work. Other than that, I had no problems whatsoever.

Laptop (Macbook Air -- W8.1 Pro x64) : Didn't automatically get the update, I manually enabled it in registry. Boot Camp assistant bugged, I wasn't able to control keyboard light brightness nor the function keys. MySQL service didn't work (that's the only reason I have Windows installed on my Mac) Had to downgrade. Irony is that while I tried to activate desktop for 2 hours, laptop activated itself in 15 seconds.

I upgraded this machine last Wednesday using the ISO method and over all it went smoothly. It didn't detect my Corsair keyboard or my GTX 970 at first. The keyboard was easy, just unplugged it and plugged it back in and it was fine. The graphics card was a little more involved. Fortunately, I have one of my monitors plugged into the internal graphics and it worked fine so I could see what I was doing. Windows couldn't detect the 970 at all, even after installing appropriate drivers. I had to remove the card, reboot the pc, shut it down, reinstall the card and reboot again. It was then detected, the drivers installed and has been working like a champ ever since. As for my installed programs, it picked everyone up as well as my external drives, my scanner and my printer. I also upgraded an ACER netbook with zero problems. Windows 10 is a keeper in my IHO.

Try setting your location to USA. You can set if back after W10 boots. That worked for me

Has anyone successfully installed the 10 upgrade?

This happened to me as well. I just restarted the PC and took the laptop to a location with better broadband, it downloaded a lot faster and then installed itself after a couple of hours.
