Has Microsoft disabled or changed MAPI in Windows 10?

I am the tech support for my father and I'm having difficulty finding an answer to a problem. Prior to upgrading him from Windows 7 to 10, he could make envelopes in WordPerfect 12. When choosing the address, his address books from SeaMonkey 2.35 would show in Corel Address Book 8. Now they do not. I've remoted in and seen the following errors. On the first attempt to open the "Other" address book I see this:There is no email program association to perform the requested action. Please install an email program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel.
This error only appears once unless I exit and restart WordPerfect. When I click okay, I see the following error:MAPI Address Books will not be available. Please check the information services set up in the active user profile and your installation of Windows Messaging.
I've checked and SeaMonkey Mail is the default email client. When checking the association for .mapimail, I changed it to SeaMonkey from Unknown Application, but it did not help.

I cannot find any answer as to whether Windows 10 has disabled or changed MAPI. Are there any suggestions out here?

    :)

High CPU Usage by COM Surrogate (Windows 10, Offcie 16)

I have extremely high CPU usage from COM Surrogate (DLLHoste.exe). Causing my computer to act very slugishly

Using ProcessMonitor I can see that DLLHost.exe is attempting to read the following registry values over and over and over (with success):

    HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\MAPI\Resiliency\StartupItems\a1q

    HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\MAPI\Resiliency\StartupItems\b1q

    HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\MAPI\Resiliency\StartupItems\c1q

    ...

    HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\MAPI\Resiliency\StartupItems\y1q

    HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\MAPI\Resiliency\StartupItems\z1q

    Then repeating.

If I use the registry editor and go to HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\MAPI\Resiliency\StartupItems,

RegEdit just locks up with 'not responding'

I have tested with Outlook Open and Closed. No change.

imap not working after creator fall update.

I am sorry to disagree with MICROSOFT... but the windows platform should motivate app development and support for 3rd party apps. When long used mapi support is denied, due to a re-design of an interface in windows AND an existing older interface provides
a means to assign that MAPI function, then MICROSOFT really needs to take note. If the user is now to set the protocols, then the means to do it is not available. Instead of choosing the application and choosing from a number of available protocols... now
one has to find the protocol and hope that the app is listed with it. Backward's... Many 3rd party programs take advantage of MAPI transfer. If the older interface is the solution to assigning protocols, then it seems reasonable to make it readily available.

Earlier in my post I sighted a program that calls on this... C:\Windows\System32\control.exe /name Microsoft.DefaultPrograms /page pageDefaultProgram ...this is where all things wonderful can occur.

This is NOT a development issue but an oversight. The ability to send an object through MAPI is a convenience that is now omitted.

Many component's by necessity are backwards compatible, that's what windows re-parse points are all about, so rendering OFFICE 2007 obsolete is not a wise choice. I really wonder if MICROSOFT has bothered to alert it's 3rd party partners to its changes.
In the end, while trying to make Windows 10 better, which it has, the customer has become the BETA tester, the Answer Desk persons often require a MAPI refresher course and this forum becomes the point of contact with MICROSOFT's developers. More than one
way of doing things is backwards!

Did I provide too much detail? Just skip to the bottom to get to the question. Maybe I should have asked it at the top and then added the details. Has Windows 10 disabled MAPI?

Since nobody responded and I couldn't find an answer, we reverted the computer back to Windows 7 and MAPI address books are still broken. I guess this question no longer belongs in Windows 10 so I'm marking it solved (even though it wasn't) and re-asking (and rewording) in Windows 7.
