  1. Have I deleted all of my files for good or can I restore?

I'm hoping someone has a solution because I'm one step away from putting my head in the oven which when you've read this you'll understand is where it belongs.

My OneDrive has been full for months, I don't bother too much with this because I have a backup connected to my machine, so I've just left it. Today I thought I'd get rid of everything from OneDrive to clear space and so I stop getting those messages saying it's full. What I hadn't banked on was that when I deleted from the OneDrive documents folder that all of the files in the same folder on my hard drive would be deleted.

My external hardrive I've been using to backup is now not working.

Is there anything I can do to restore the files?

Because my OneDrive has been full for months, when I go to the OneDrive restore recycle bin to retrieve the documents I have just deleted, they aren't in there. Please, please help...

    :)

Shute I never thought about system restore. But its been more than a week now, don't know if I can go back that far. But even then will it put back user files?

    Deleted file restore software.

    Oh.

So your running the backup software from the server and not the computer.

Yep I see whats happened. Just for the future (althought I am sure you wont make the same mistake again) make sure you select and option that says "if it cant find the file, DONT delete". If it doesnt have that option...switch to SynbackSE.

An FYI: difference between incremental and differential is that differential copies all new / changed files since the last full backup......incremental copies all new / changed files since the last backup no matter what it was (incremental/full/differential).

Now to get your files back:

Tried a system restore on the server?

    Deleted file restore software.

I cant remember if it recovers old files OR leaves new files on the computer even after you do the restore. I havent used it in a while.
