Windows 10: have PIN forgot password

been using the pin so long I have forgotten my password for Windows 10. Other than resetting everything is there a way to reset the password. No my password is not part of my Microsoft account.

Password for what? If you forgot the PIN to unlock the phone, that's it, you have to hard reset. There's no way around it. Same thing for the Wallet PIN.

If it's a password to something else, please state what you forgot the password to.

 

ADD login pin does not allow adding a pin.

I want to create a login pin rather than having to use my microsoft account password to login. There is no sign in option choice below the password sign in. When I go to acount settings>pin>add, it asks for a pin, AND offers a "forgot pin" or occasionally
asks for the microsoft pasword. The forgot pin just says to select pin login and reset the pin. Entering the microsoft password doesn't go anywhere helpful. How can we fix this? thank you

You should be able to use OPTION FOUR in the tutorial below to change the password of your local account.

If that's not an available option for you, then you could sign in to another administrator account to change your password.
