You need to go back and look in detail. The first one is critical action and it can be set to shutdown or nothing or hibernate.

Please look at each one carefully.

Your battery could be dead or deadish. I have an HP laptop and the battery is fried. I left in because it lifts rear of laptop. Then along came one major upgrade which removed the do nothing option. Plugged in or not the battery would burp and the device powered down. Had to remove battery, even when plugged in.

Power and Sleep 30 minutes on battery, never plugged in
Balanced plan modified Plugged In Never, On battery 20 minutes turn off display, 30 minutes put to sleep
Power buttons on battery, hibernate if using power button or sleep button, shut down if closing lid
plugged in shut down, hibernate, shut down
Closing the lid, similar to power buttons
Turn off hard drive 10 minutes on battery, 20 minutes plugged in
Sleep 30 minutes on battery, never plugged in
    Hybrid sleep On for both
Battery specific critical, shut down low battery level 10% both critical battery level 10% both
low battery notification On on both (but I wasn't getting)
Low battery action on battery, hibernate, never plugged in
Reserve battery level 15% on both (think I changed that from 5%

  3. I would not jump to that conclusion.

Check settings, make sure it notifies, set what to do on levels and monitor. So you are not waiting all afternoon set some number very high for test purposes and monitor. Then reset.

You will find cheap batteries online with emphasis on cheap. Lots will be OEM look a likes. Not saying don't buy but by with eyes wide open.

This is not a battery test method but it has information on the battery that can indicate its charge status.
So it is an indirect method to test the battery.
If the battery should be fully charged and it displays low numbers then it indicates a failing battery or charging system.

    Two laptops were just tested.
    1) normal battery
    2) failed battery
For the failed battery the computer lights blink indicating a failed battery.
And the bios battery check indicate failed battery.

The computer with the good battery displayed:
    Design Capacity 65520
    Last Full Charge 65520

The computer with the failed battery displayed:
    Design Capacity 16250
    Last Full Charge 16250

If this method is useful let us know and I'll provide the commands to view this battery information.

I would like to know how to check these, but after further reading and manual checking...".... orange blinking battery indicator indicates a "battery with less than 10% charge". My task bar is showing 93% charge, not 10 or less. Seems like notifications not working properly and battery definitely not close to 30%

Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste this command:
    C:\Windows\system32>powercfg -energy -output c:/energy-report.html

For 60 seconds it will record data.

  10. I remember a long time back. There was another issue like this. If you want to search threads you can search battery, the second driver, control method battery and my user name. Of course after doing what zbook has recommended.

I think we uninstalled both items under Batteries and let system redetect, I think.

This was the in the earlier post and worked again for administrative command prompt:

    C:\Windows\system32>powercfg -energy -output c:/energy-report.html

    Follow these steps:
    They are all keyboard entries:
    1) win + x keys (simultaneously)
    2) a
    3) alt + y keys (simultaneously)
This should open administrative command prompt.
    4) copy and paste: C:\Windows\system32>powercfg -energy -output c:/energy-report.html
