Windows 10: Having a "Sticky Key" or Just an Error in the System

Hi!


I would just like to say that I have a very annoying problem and this problem just came up to me and sometimes it goes away and sometimes it comes back.


My problem is when I started playing CS:GO or any first person shooter game (we usually press and hold the "wasd" keys) and when I started pressing w to run in CS:GO, the game minimizes and then the start menu opens up (without pressing the windows key) and when I press it more than once, or maybe hold it down, it shows that I typed w's in the search bar and/or pops up windows ink workspace and it's so frustrating because not only does it happen when I'm playing games but when I type "w" in the search bar in Google Chrome, it also has that glitch that it opens the start menu and windows ink workspace. And I really need some help because my hotkeys are off and also my sticky keys, filter keys, bounce keys, etc. I'm so confused as to why this happens but then suddenly stops and comes back usually when I play fps games. I searched some online solutions but it's not working for me.

P.S. The sign that this problem caused is: it also shows me that when I press it over again and again, it also highlights or "selects" those programs in my desktop or homepage which starts in "w" so I feel like when I'm playing, the "w" key made a double function, e.g., when I press "w", not only does it make my character run forward but also selects the program in my desktop which starts in "w" and also opening the start menu at the same time!


I really need your help and I'm so thankful you read all of this. Thank you for your time.

Hi,

Sticky keys dialog box appears when you have press the Shift key five times continuously. It also lets you use the Shift, Ctrl, ALT, or Windows Logo keys by pressing one key at a time. You can set up Sticky Keys from the Ease of Access Center on the Control
Panel. Follow the steps below:

• Press the Shift key five times.
• Once the dialog box appear, click the Go to the Ease of Access Center to disable keyboard shortcut link.
  
• It will open the Set up Sticky Notes window in the Control Panel.
• Uncheck Turn on Sticky Keys when SHIFT is pressed five times option.
• You can also set the settings to your desired option.

After doing so, check if the same pop-up will appear while playing the game.

Sticky Note Error?

To further help you with your concern about the sticky note, we suggest using System File Checking in Windows 10. Kindly follow the steps below:

• Right-click (or press and hold) the Start button, then select Command Prompt (Admin)
• Enter sfc /scannow (note the space between "sfc" and "/").
