Windows 10: Having to reinstall windows over and over

For a couple of months now, if I don't use my ASUS laptop running Windows 10 for a period longer than 3 days, the next time I boot it up, it wont boot into windows. It will go into recovery and wont go further. So I will pop my recovery usb in and it has me reinstall windows all over again. So when it comes to the allocation of space portion, it will say I cant install windows on any of the partitions as the disk is about to fail. I will delete the partitions and format the drive and it lets me install no problem. Then I have to turn the laptop on EVERY day and shut it down or I will have to do the reinstall process all over again. What can I do about this? It is becoming more and more frustrating by the day

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Reinstall Windows?

You don't need to reinstall windows. Go to the device manager and remove uninstall the processor and motherboard drivers listed. When you start the system back up you should be able to re-install the new ones. I just changed my mobo/processor Friday, everything is fine.

BTW I have seen some reviews that state practically no difference in using more than 2gb of ram.
