Windows 10: Having trouble with WDDM.

So I just found a PC built in 2013 sitting in a closet in my house (long story), and I’m trying to get it more up to date. It currently has Windows 7 on it, and I am attempting to upgrade to Windows 10. I have tried installing this already but near the end it stopped and undid the entire update. It gave me an error code I stupidly did not keep, but it had something to do with graphics I think. Now I just checked the system requirements and I meet all of them except for the WDDM 1.0. Now I am not entirely sure what this is or how it works even after some research, but what I do know is that the WDDM that I have is 1.1, not 1.0. Is 1.0 just the minimum, and anything above that will also work? Or is it saying that you have to have only 1.0. If you know the answer please include how to fix this. thank you

Hi Beverly,

The error message is related to PCs using WD portable drives. We suggest that you restart the WDDM service and check if it helps.

Here's how:

• Open Run by pressing Win + R, and then enter services.msc. You can also click on Start, Search, or Cortana, and then look for
  Services Desktop app.
  
• Locate Windows Display Driver Model Service.
• Right-click on the service, and then select Restart.

In addition, make sure that the service is set to start automatically.

• Right-click on the service, and then select Properties.
• Change the Startup type to Automatic.

If the issue persists, you may need to contact the drive's manufacturer.

I'm having trouble with Macrium Reflect tutorial.

Strongly suggest you watch some youtube videos on Macrium and follow them step by step, making sure they are current.

Also make sure you have the manual to hand, and use the extensive help provided with the product.

 

Having trouble with port forwarding..

I am currently a bit occupied and can't focus 100%.

Give me some time to write a full check list for you. That manual helps a lot in doing all this.

I will return once I've written everything in a clear and step by step tutorial. I also have D2, so I will test it on my system, which also takes time.
