Windows 10: HD failure after installing Win 10

I just installed Win 10 Home on a PC that had been running Win 8.1. I did not upgrade, I did a complete install. The install & activation went fine , but shortly afterwards the HD has apparently failed, as now on startup all it will do is check the disk for a long time and then report that it can't be repaired. I have ordered a new HD.


My Win 10 was the downloaded version, onto a USB drive. I have the drive, also order #, product key etc. How do I install this Win 10 on the new HD? I sure don't want to buy another copy!!!

The Ultimate Realtek HD Audio Driver Mod for Windows 10

Hey Dj Urko, I am trying to install the realtek driver and I get the error 0x0001. I have disabled secure boot and Driver signature. I have the latest win 10 build. What am I doing wrong? Can u post the complete list of steps that I have to take? I have an asus z170 with alc1150.

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if that helps.

• 
  Press Windows + X and select Command Prompt( Admin).
  
• 
  In the command prompt window, type fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\. (This assumes that C: is the drive in which Windows 10 is installed. If Windows is installed on another drive, change the drive letter accordingly.)
  
• 
  Restart your computer.
  
• 
  Download and install the update again.

Win 10 install failure

Hi - Anyone have any knowledge of a Code 8009000B installation failure for Win 10 (install from Win 7)?

Repeated attempts to install produce the same code failure.
