    HDD trim feature not working as expected


    Is there a reason Storage Optimiser needs to trim my Western Digital Red 12tb HDD and errors about it to event viewer? Event id 264 in any case. That one is new to me.

    TRIM not working

    OldNavyGuy, I'm familiar with the problem with 2004 and TRIM where it keeps saying the drive need optimized right after running it. I ran %windir%\system32\dfrgui.exe as you suggested but it didn't work. I checked "event viewer" to see if it ran and it didn't. My laptop runs TRIM just fine 'cept for the "needs optimizing" showing constantly.

    It is possible that your
    HDD was unreadable
    causing the error message to appear. We recommend that you perform these troubleshooting steps and check if there are any changes:


    • Shutdown
      your
      PC.

    • Unhooked
      the
      HDD
      and
      turn on
      your
      PC.

    • Reconnect
      your
      HDD
      and
      restart
      your
      PC.

    If the issue persists, we suggest that you contact your
    laptop/computer's manufacturer
    for further assistance.

    Update us on how it goes.
