Windows 10: HDMI audio out

Windows 11I am currently using an HDMI adapter to connect my soundbar optical in and laptop HDMI out. My soundbar does not have a HDMI port so that's why. It has been working fine for 2 years with HDMI Audio. This HDMI adapter has an additional adapter HDMI port for connecting other displays.I decided to connect another monitor using HDMI and out of a sudden the HDMI audio option disappeared : the laptop only managed to detect the output of the sound as the monitor instead. There is no way to bring up the HDMI audio option. Does anyone have such an issue where the monitor overwrites the H

PC to TV through HDMI

Hi,

Have you tried to reconfigure your audio settings? If not, try to change your audio output settings to HDMI by following the steps below:

• Press Windows ( ) key + X.
• Select Control Panel.
• Click Hardware & Sound.
• Click Manage Audio Devices.
• Select the HDMI device listed under the Playback tab.
• Click Set as default and click Ok.

Also, we suggest to update your audio driver.

If the Digital Output Device or HDMI is not an option under the Playback tab. You can run the Hardware and Device troubleshooter by following these steps:

• Type Troubleshooting in Search or Cortana.
• Click on “View All” in the top left corner.
• Choose Hardware and Sound.
• Click Playing Audio to run the troubleshooter.

It seems that the issue is due to incorrect audio settings. For help fixing audio or sound problems, try the audio troubleshooter.
It might be able to fix audio problems automatically.

Additionally, we suggest that check your audio settings. Make sure that your HDMI TV is set as your default sound device. Here are the steps:

• Click Start and in the Search box, type
  Sound.
• From the search results, click the Sound option.
• Under the Playback tab, click Speakers
• Click Set Default at the bottom.
• Click Apply and OK to save the settings.
