Windows 10: HDMI not working on tv

I'm hoping one of you can help me with this. I just bought a new ASUS Laptop BR1100 BR1100FKA-BP0548R. My problem is that when I try to connect to a smart tv using HDMI, it's not working. The problem is not the cord because when I used my Microsoft laptop, I was able to connect to the TV. Also, when I tried to connect to another tv using the same steps, the HDMI worked so the HDMI port is also working. I'm really having a hard time trying to figure this out so I'm looking forward to your suggestions on what I should do.

Why exactly is ATi considered be better at HDMI?

Sound works fine only issue with me is underscan when connecting to my tv.

I plug my HDMI cable into the card, then into my TV. Those are the steps that I have to do. All the steps you list make absolutely no sense to me.

This problem might be caused by faulty HDMI ports either on the computer or TV, faulty HDMI cable, or device drivers issue. We suggest checking the Device Manager if the TV is being detected by the computer. To access Device Manager, press
Windows key + X and select Device Manager.

If the TV does not appear in Device Manager, we recommend trying a different HDMI ports on the TV or try a different HDMI cable for isolation purposes.
