Hi people. This is my first attempt at getting help. I've searched all the forums but can't find a solution to my issue. I have an Asus Zenbook with Realtek audio and Win 10. Every now and then I find that the headphone jack no longer works. This used to be that an update switched the setting from headphone to headset, but now I have a weird thing - the only way I can get sound via the headphone is to select "MIc In" in the Connector Retasking ANALOG drop down in the Realtek Audio Console. This makes no sense and also mutes the laptop's mic. I only use this for Zoom meetings but I really really need my headphone jack to work correctly as I have a hearing problem and use specialist equipment to hear. I have updated and reinstalled the Realtek drivers to no avail. The Windows troubleshooter says there is no issue. Everything was fine on 13/03/21 but by 15/03/21 it has gone wrong. Can you help??

    :)

  3. Realtek Audio Headphone Jack Issue

The SONY: SRS-X2 listed is a Bluetooth speaker that I have been using in place of the laptop speakers, which generally works fine. I think it's also worth it to note that the Speakers listed here don't change when I actually plug headphones into the laptop.

The Realtek software installed is listed as Realtek High Definition Audio Driver, from Realtek Semiconductor Corp. 6.0.1.7548, installed 10/29/2017.

The problem is that audio is no longer coming out of the laptop speakers. Previously, whenever headphones were plugged into or taken out of the jack on the laptop, Realtek would send a notification saying that something had been plugged in or out. However,
I have not gotten either of those messages since the problem with the speakers started, so it was my assumption that the laptop simply believes that there is something still plugged into the headphone jack that has never been taken out.

The headphones that I use work perfectly fine, and I can get audio from the laptop if I just plug headphones it, however I don't get the notification that I used to.

I followed all the instructions on the Windows 10 checklist, and I did the Fresh Start that was walked through on the other website, however none of this fixed the issue.

On an additional note, downloading the Realtek software listed on the Lenovo site did actually help by fixing a separate issue I was having with my Bluetooth, so I do want to thank you for that as I now have a workable alternative to the laptop speakers
if it turns out that there's just nothing to fix them.

Headphone Jack not working on Windows 10 PC

I updated my computer a few days ago with a very small windows update (took like 5 mins to complete) and ever since then my headphone jack no longer works. I've tried multiple headphones and I've tested them all to make sure they work. I used to get a pop
up for the Realtek audio setting every time I would plug headphones into the jack, but now nothing happens. I've also tried to re-install the drivers about 8 times and nothing changed. I've seen people suggest turning off front headphone jack detection, but
that's not even an option for me. I've tried disabling the Realtek drivers and using the basic windows sound card but that didn't help.

Nothing is helping and I've tried everything I can find for suggestions on the web.

    I have an ASUS Zenbook.

If anyone can help, please let me know.
