Windows 10: Headset mic not working

When I plug my headphones in my monitor's jack. The mic doesn't work, but i can hear through the headphones. I plug it in the audio or mic jack in the CPU, doesn't work, not even audio. But when I plug it in the mic jack behind the CPU,the red one, it works. But the problem is that I'm not speaking with the headset's mic, but with its audio pad. The quality is trash and the volume is very low. My headset work on my PS4 contoller. I also have a Rampage USB desktop gaming microphone, but the audio is trash and the volume is trash. Is there a way I could possibly use my headsets for audio and the mic for speaking with it, while plugged in the same jack?

Headset Mic Not Working

I really need some help.

I have a Cloud Stinger HyperX headset.

So the Microphone was working fine for many months then a few weeks ago it just stopped.

It does not show up on my list of Recording Devices anymore.

The only Mic I have is the one built in the computer.

I have tried multiple solutions and nothing works. Any suggestions?

I have no problem with the audio, only with the mic.

I don't have another headset to check with.

I am having this issue in all games and applications.

This might occur when some of the mic setting got corrupted.

I would suggest you to try running Recording audio troubleshooter.

Follow the below steps:

• 
  Type Troubleshooting in the Search area on the taskbar and select
  Troubleshooting.
  
• 
  Select Hardware and Sound.
  
• 
  Select Recording Audio under
  Sound and follow the on screen.
